The Senior Presentation night scheduled for this Saturday has been postponed. A new date is yet to be confirmed.
The North Ballarat Football Netball Club held the 2021 Annual General Meeting on Monday 13 December 2021, where the audited finances for the 2021 Financial Year were presented & accepted by the Members. After a difficult time, due to covid related restrictions, the club is looking forward to 2022 with renewed optimism.
The AGM provided an opportunity for the Club to honour a number of long-term Northies, who have provided extensive service & years of dedication to the Club.
Gerard Fitzgerald, Michael Ryan, Travis Polkinghorne & Peter Brown were nominated for elevation to the Club’s Hall of Fame and presented their medal in front of Members, by Hall of Fame, Life Member & Club Legend Alan Abrams.
Di Nevett, Shane McCarty, Stephen Darbin & member favourite Alan ‘Dizzy’ Lynch were all presented with Life Membership for their outstanding & long-term service to the Club.
A new era of leadership was on the horizon, with Leon Jones earlier indicating his decision to stand down from the position of Chairman after five (5) years of dedicated service to the Club and steering the Club through the historical amalgamation.
Director & Sports Club Chairman, Ewen Nevett had also decided to stand down from the Football Netball Club Board & focus his efforts on rebuilding the Sports Club and steering them through the post Covid recovery.
The next chapter in Club leadership was confirmed at a Board meeting following the AGM, with newly elected Director & long-term Northie, Angela Carey elected unopposed as Chair of the Club.
Ange brings to the Board an extensive experience of governance and leadership in a range of corporate and community organisations with a passion for the Club and desire to lead the North into a new era of sustained success, provide development opportunities for our Footballers & Netballers, Juniors & Seniors, while enhancing an inclusive environment for Northies, old & new.
In addition to the appointment of Ange, the following positions were also confirmed by the Board:
At the AGM, Leon Jones & Michael Ryan were re-elected unopposed to the Board for a further three (3) year period.
We look forward to 2022 with great excitement, the promise of a new season, new facilities for our Netball section & a renewed focus on maintaining North as a development Club with sustained success.
