It was with great sadness that the club heard the news of the passing of Malcolm Scott on the weekend of the 4th of November. Malcolm was well known in Ballarat Football and Basketball circles and was a leader at several clubs, starting his career with North Ballarat as a junior and playing over 100 games in both junior and senior football. Malcolm was part of the senior premiership side in 1978 as a 19 year old and then went on to play 10 senior games with St Kilda before returning to North Ballarat in 1980 and playing some of his best years. Winning the Best and Fairest in 1981 and then kicking over 100 goals and being Vice Captain in the 1982 Premiership year.
Malcolm left in 1983 to pursue his coaching career both at Sebastopol and Bacchus Marsh and played another VFL game with Sydney in 1985.
Malcolm will be missed by many and we extend our sincere sympathies and thoughts to Meg, Dan, Prue and family.
The North Ballarat Football Club will be hosting a Memorial Event for all to attend on Friday the 17th of November from 4.oopm at the North Ballarat Sports Club to celebrate Malcolm’s life and achievements.
